This afternoon we took our first round of goodie bags into the hospital ward. There were only about 10 little children staying there, and we did our best to visit with them in addition to handing them bags filled with crayons, coloring pages, glow sticks, and balloons. Each of our kids had paired up with a buddy going into the ward and to not overwhelm any one patient. The parents did allow us to take some pictures and even pr-y with a few of the children. Allison had the privilege of pr-ying over a young boy with his Muslim grandfather’s permission (which is I guess extremely rare.) Since many of these children had severe injuries and I think 3-4 of them were terminally ill, our kids will probably be processing this for quite some time.
