Schoolwork has been a chore to say the least. As the mom, I feel like we are constantly not doing enough and dreading the flight home and first few weeks back, imagining trying to get done all that we’ve not gotten done here in Bangladesh. However, today’s classroom was nothing but extraordinary. No, we didn’t crack our books, but our children had the opportunity to put on scrubs and enter the operating room for surgery! This would never be a possibility by any stretch of the imagination in the U.S., yet here on the Indian sub-continent, even our youngest were allowed inside the O.R. We got to see a 7 year old who was suffering from an enlarged spleen, and was receiving laparoscopic surgery. We have also been promised the prospect of seeing a C-section performed, which Wyatt, Ethan and Morgan are especially excited about. I am so amazed and thankful at the learning opportunities and vision for ministry to which my family is being exposed!
